LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

The Mandate Development Centre (TMDC) acknowledges that our work takes place on the traditional and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq people, part of the wider homeland of Mi’kma’ki, as well as within the historic territories of the Wolastoqiyik (Maliseet) and Peskotomuhkati (Passamaquoddy) peoples. These lands are covered by the Peace and Friendship Treaties first signed in 1726, agreements that did not involve the surrender of land or resources, but instead affirmed Indigenous sovereignty and established a framework for respectful and ongoing relationships between nations. As a community-driven organization dedicated to equity, creativity, and social impact, TMDC commits to honouring these relationships by advancing collaboration, inclusion, and shared responsibility in the work we do across Greater Moncton and beyond.
