Community Entreprenuership & Leadership Program – CELP COHORT 1
PROGRAM PURPOSE & FOCUS
The Community Entrepreneurship & Leadership Program (CELP) – Cohort 1 is a 3‑month workforce‑readiness and leadership development program designed to help youth, newcomers, and emerging job‑seekers successfully enter, navigate, and grow within the Canadian labour market.
While CELP introduces entrepreneurship and leadership concepts, this cohort is primarily focused on resume building, employability skills, and labour‑market integration, ensuring participants leave the program with:
- A strong, Canadian‑ready resume
- A clear professional profile and career direction
- Practical job‑search and interview skills
- Confidence navigating local workplaces and communities
TARGET PARTICIPANTS
CELP – Cohort 1 serves:
- High school students (Grades 10 – 12)
- Newcomer youth and young adults
- Local youth aged 15 – 24
- Emerging job‑seekers and early‑stage entrepreneurs
Total cohort size: 20 – 30 participants
PROGRAM STRUCTURE
- Duration: June – August (3 months)
- Format: In‑person sessions
- Frequency: 2 sessions per month
- Total sessions: 6
- Session length: 2 – 2.5 hours
Each session combines:
- Skills‑based instruction
- Hands‑on activities
- Group discussions
- Practical take‑home tools
LEARNING OUTCOMES
By the end of the program, participants will:
- Produce a professional, tailored resume suitable for Canadian employers
- Build a clear personal brand and career narrative
- Gain confidence in interviews and workplace communication
- Understand Canadian workplace culture and expectations
- Develop basic entrepreneurial and leadership thinking
- Feel more connected and integrated into the Moncton community
- Expand their professional network
- Receive a certificate of completion that strengthens resumes and postsecondary applications
